Rosen Library Circulation Policies

Only currently enrolled UCF students qualify for student library borrowing privileges, and only currently employed UCF faculty/staff qualify for faculty borrowing privileges.

A UCF ID card is required to check out materials from any UCF Library.  For more information about the UCF Card, see the Card Services website.

Visitors interested in borrowing materials should refer to our Services for Visitors page for more information.

Renewals

Items borrowed from any UCF library may be renewed at the circulation desk or online.

Overdue Fines

Fines on books and multimedia items accrue from the due date at a rate of $0.25 per day, with a grace period of 3 days. This means that fines accumulate from the stamped due date but are not collected until the amount reaches $1.00 (4 days overdue).

There is no grace period for Reserves or Laptop items. Fines for these items are charged at $0.25 per 15 minutes.

All borrowers except Faculty and Staff are responsible for library fines. Fines may be paid at the Universal Orlando Foundation Library with a check or UCF Smart Card. Please make checks payable to UCF Library. Errors in billing should be reported promptly to the Circulation Desk.

Lost, Damaged, or Stolen Materials

Until Library materials are returned and received at the UCF Libraries, they are the responsibility of the borrower.

All materials which have been lost, damaged or stolen should be reported immediately to the Circulation Desk. If the material is overdue by more than 30 days it is automatically assumed lost.

Patrons will be billed for the replacement cost of lost or stolen items. In the case of damaged items, patrons will be billed for repair costs. If a lost item is found and returned, the bill will be taken off and overdue fines for the item will be billed to the borrower.

Bills for lost, damaged, or stolen items can be paid by UCF Smart Card or check (made out to UCF Library) at the Circulation Desk in the Library.
