Government information during the shutdown

Posted on: Oct 1, 2013 @ 11:50:33 am

Rich Gause, UCF Libraries Government Documents librarian, regarding government resources unavailable during the current government shutdown: "GPO's Federal Digital System (FDsys) will be updated, with Congressional and Federal Register information only.
Library of Congress web sites will be inaccessible except the legislative information sites THOMAS.gov and Congress.gov.
Those looking for financial data to assess the impact of a shutdown will have to do it without help from the Congressional Budget Office and the Census, both of which are closing. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, which is scheduled to issue its monthly jobs report this Friday, is also closing.
ERIC -- Due to a lapse of appropriations and the partial shutdown of the Federal Government, the systems that host eric.ed.gov will be shut down shortly. The services will be restored as soon as a continuing resolution to provide funding has been enacted.
