UCF Libraries Welcomes Chelsea Dinsmore as Associate Dean for Resources & Discovery

The University of Central Florida Libraries has appointed Chelsea S. Dinsmore as the new Associate Dean for Resources & Discovery. Chelsea brings more than two decades of leadership experience in digital collections, metadata innovation, and collaborative scholarship to the role, and will lead our effort to improve library resource access.

Dinsmore joins UCF from the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida, where she most recently served as Chair of Resource Description Services. In that role, she unified multiple cataloging and metadata units, strengthened faculty development, and led large-scale digitization and access initiatives including the Florida Digital Newspaper Library and the Digital Library of the Caribbean. Her expertise spans metadata creation and management, acquisitions, resource sharing, and digital access, all areas that align well with the needs of the role.

At UCF, Dinsmore will oversee Acquisitions & Collection Services, Document Delivery & Resource Sharing, Metadata Creation & Management, and Special Collections & University Archives. She will lead efforts to strengthen access to library resources, advance innovative collection strategies, and expand collaborative partnerships that elevate research visibility.

“I am thrilled to be joining the UCF Libraries and I am looking forward to working on such a dynamic team, contributing to re-centering the library in the student experience. I’m very excited by the clear and strategic vision for the future of the library under Dean Case’s leadership.”

With her record of strategic leadership and dedication to building inclusive and data-driven library systems, Dinsmore’s appointment marks a major step in advancing the UCF Libraries’ strategic directions and the university’s broader goals of research excellence and student achievement.
