UCF Libraries Welcomes New Acquisitions Assistant Librarian

The University of Central Florida (UCF) Libraries is proud to announce the appointment of Mary Diaz as Acquisitions Assistant Librarian. Mary is bringing very strong experience in academic libraries and museum environments, with a strong foundation in acquisition workflows and collection development.

In her current role as Curatorial Program Coordinator at the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida, she manages acquisition documentation, monitors budgets, and facilitates cross-departmental collaboration to support collection growth.

Mary holds a Master of Science in Information from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Temple University. Her academic training and professional experience align closely with her responsibilities at UCF Libraries, where she’ll support the strategic acquisition of physical and digital resources, contribute to budget and vendor management processes, and help advance data-informed collection strategies that support teaching and research.

“I’m very excited to join UCF Libraries as Acquisitions Assistant Librarian and to contribute to the development of collections that reflect and meet the needs of a diverse university community,” said Diaz “I look forward to collaborating with the library team and making thoughtful, data-informed decisions that expand access to resources and support teaching and learning.”

As Acquisitions Assistant Librarian, Mary will collaborate with library faculty and campus partners to enhance collection strategies, support efficient acquisitions workflows, and ensure access to high-quality resources that meet the evolving needs of the UCF community.
