UCF Libraries Welcomes Vashti Jenkins Taylor!

The University of Central Florida (UCF) Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Vashti Jenkins Taylor as a UCF Connect Librarian supporting the partnership with Seminole State College. In this role, Vashti will provide research support, instruction, and outreach for students and faculty participating in the UCF Connect programs.


Vashti brings experience supporting student learning and academic success through instruction, consultation, and outreach. She has served as a Writing Center Consultant for Valencia College and the UCF Downtown campus, where she worked one-on-one with students to strengthen research strategies, writing skills, and information literacy.

In addition to her instructional work, Vashti has participated in collaborative initiatives that expand access to learning support services. She has presented at the Florida College Learning Center Association and has contributed to programming that increased writing center engagement and student participation.

Vashti holds a Master of Science in Information from Florida State University, with a certificate in User Services, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where she graduated summa cum laude.

“Central Florida is where I grew up. It’s home. This learning community is so thoughtful, collaborative, and innovative,” said Jenkins Taylor “I am taking on that energy in my role at UCF Libraries as the Seminole State College Librarian of Florida Connect. I know that together, we will all build a spirit of belonging, exploration and scholarship that will change our lives and our world for the better.”

As UCF Connect Librarian, Vashti will collaborate with faculty, staff, and partner institutions to support teaching, learning, and research initiatives that benefit students across campuses. She will provide instruction, research consultations, and outreach to strengthen the connection between UCF Libraries and the Seminole State College of Florida learning community.
