Central Florida Memory turns 100,000!

Posted on: May 21, 2010 @ 10:53:46 am

Central Florida Memory (CFM) recently passed the 100,000 image mark. Today CFM has a total of 100,291 images!

Those 100,291 images tell stories of Central Florida's past. The items are physically housed in the collections of the CFM partners: University of Central Florida Libraries, Bethune Cookman University, Museum of Seminole County History, Orange County Library System, Orange County Regional History Center, Rollins College, and Stetson University.

Diaries, letters, maps, photographs, postcards, voters' registration, funeral records, and city directories are some of the fascinating materials included in the Central Florida Memory collection. Tools to get started on a journey through the time before theme parks, air conditioning, and space shots include stories, games for children, and lesson plans, along with the capability of searching the collection.

CFM has something for the casual browser, the serious researcher, and students of all ages: anyone interested in Central Florida and its rich heritage. Central Florida Memory welcomes you for a visit, at any time and from anywhere!
