Question:
Will the Library have all my textbooks?
Answer:
We do have
some textbooks in our Rosen General Collection, but we do
not have the text for every course. The books in our collection are primarily intended to supplement your required texts and to provide research material for your papers and projects.
In fact, most students simply have to buy their textbooks at the campus bookstore, from a friend, or through an online vendor such as
Amazon or
Half.com.
To find out if we have your textbook, you can search the
UCF Library Catalog or ask a Library staff member for assistance. You will need to know the exact title of the book (and, ideally, the author and year of publication) in order to determine if we own it.
In addition, some professors put textbooks or other materials on reserve at the Library, which means that the items remain in the Library so that all students in a class can have access to it. To find our if your textbook has been put on reserve, check the
UCF Library Course Reserve catalog or ask a Library staff member for assistance.
