If you're working on a paper that requires APA citation style, take note: APA has recently been updated. Changes are reflected in the recently released 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (also known as the "APA Manual").
What's new in the 6th edition? Pay close attention to the new rules on citing a journal or magazine article in the reference list. For example, APA has introduced a DOI, or digital object identifier, that replaces the database name and URL in the citation. It's a unique code assigned to a scholarly article and looks something like this: 10.1016/j.ijhm.2009.02.006. There are also different rules to follow depending on whether or not a journal article has been given a DOI.
Want to learn more about it? See specific examples in our recently updated APA Citation Style guide.
