Communications, Assessment & Public Relations

Communications (media & communication relations, publications that communicate the organization’s activities and services)
Reviewing and monitoring the communication plan for the Libraries, including signage and press releases; working with UCF Marketing and UCF News & Information; developing promotional products to inform about Libraries activities and services; produce and support in-house publications as well as publications for faculty about the Libraries and its services; social media, News/Blog, tweets, responding to information requests from media, and explaining policy, vetting scripts and locations of students requesting to video or photograph in the John C. Hitt Library.

Assessment (collect, qualitatively measure, and analyze Libraries resources and services)
Working with Operational Excellence & Assessment Support; recruiting members and hosting the Libraries’ Student Advisory Board Meetings, which provide students an opportunity voice their concerns and suggestions; participate in LibQUAL assessments; surveys)

Public Relations (build, maintain and manage the reputation of the of the UCF Libraries)
Responding to patrons with concerns and issues referred by the University Ombuds office and library staff; contacting and responding to suggestion box comments; interacting with exceptional concerns, e.g., helicopter parents, complaints about fines, study rooms, etc.; respond and explain policy to requests (or complaints) to use the John C. Hitt Library and surrounding area to distribute literature, collect donations, hang posters, hold meetings, etc.
