General Collection
Acquisitions and Collection Services is responsible for acquiring and providing access to all materials in the UCF Libraries General Collection, which includes books, media, journals, databases, and more. Government Documents

Patents & Trademarks
The UCF Library is a member of the Patent and Trademark Resource Centers (PTRCs). There are eighty-three member libraries in the United States and Territories. The PTRCs is administered by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The UCF Patent and Trademark Library is open to the public and has the resources needed to do preliminary patent and trademark research.

Special Collections & University Archives
- Special Collections acquires monographs, maps, photographs, ephemera, and visual and audio materials that have a central function to the curriculum that support long-term research goals. With these goals, Special Collections has developed five distinct collecting areas which are African Americana, Book Arts & Typography, West Indies, Floridiana, and Travel & Tourism.
- The University Archives holds publications, records, photographs, and other materials about the University of Central Florida (UCF), formerly Florida Technological University (FTU), from its beginnings in 1963 to the current day. Materials are selected, preserved, and made accessible for their enduring historical and administrative value to the university. University Archive acquires mostly paper-based records but also collects ephemera as well as audio and visual materials.

STARS (Showcase of Text, Archives, Research & Scholarship)
As UCF’s digital repository this will become a prominent collection of materials for, by, and about UCF. In Spring of 2015 the UCF Libraries received technology fee funding to start an institution-wide digital repository. It has been named STARS, Showcase of Text, Archives, Research & Scholarship. By sharing intellectual and creative outputs in a central site in the cloud, STARS will allow faculty and students to showcase their work and make outputs available to expand and enhance research, teaching, and learning.
Digital Collections
Our born digital and retrospectively digitized collections contain materials that provide digital access to important source materials for research and scholarship. Many of the materials are unique to the Central Florida community including Central Florida Memory, the Carey Hand Funeral Home Records, Dick Pope Sr. Institute for Tourism Studies, Florida Heritage, Florida Historical Quarterly, Institute for Simulation and Training, Special Collections, African American Legacy – The Carol Mundy Collection, Civil War, Digital Library of the Caribbean, Harrison “Buzz” Price Papers, PRISM: Political & Rights Issues & Social Movements, Theses and Dissertations, UCF Community Veterans History Project, University Archives, Central Florida Future, Pegasus Yearbooks, UCF Catalogs, and University Photograph Collection.
