The mission of UCF Libraries Department of Special Collections and University Archives is to provide services central to the Library and University community in support of research, teaching and service. Materials are collected which cannot be easily replaced and include, but are not limited to, books, manuscripts, historic public records, ephemera, photographs, and art. These materials have a central function to the curriculum and support long-term research goals. The preservation of these materials is a service to the local, state and national research community.

The Collection also includes examples of fine press books, periodicals, and other books related to bookbinding, papermaking, calligraphy, typography, and printing.
