Research Consultation

Biography

Patrick Green began his career with UCF Libraries in November 2024 and is the hard/physical sciences librarian in the Research Engagement Department. He is the primary librarian for Biology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Nanotechnology, Physics, and Optics and Photonics, providing research assistance, library instruction, outreach, and collection development for these subject areas. Patrick is also the lead contact for the UCF Writing Center.

Before starting his academic library career, Patrick worked in the Orange County Library System of Orlando as a circulation clerk and reference assistant. Patrick also worked as a writing consultant with Valencia State College, assisting students with their research needs and essay writing. Patrick involves himself on committees at the library, university, and national level.

He maintains an active research interest in evidence synthesis, misinformation/disinformation, STEM librarianship, artificial intelligence, and the library as a third space. Patrick has presented on the history of book covers and co-presented on student wellbeing in academic library spaces.

Patrick earned his Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. Before his graduate studies, he received his BA in English Literature from the University of Central Florida. Ever since his graduation from UCF, Patrick became an enthusiastic resident of Orlando with a love for movies, local food, and reading.
