LGBTQIA Pride Month Events at UCF Libraries

While every day is a time to celebrate your identity and orientation, June is a notable month set aside to loudly and proudly celebrate with and for the LGBTQIA community. Here at UCF Libraries we are loudly proud of everyone at UCF who identifies as part of the queer community. In recognition of and support for our LGBTQIA Knights, we are hosting a series of displays and events including a UCF Remembers display from the Pulse Collection, a featured bookshelf, three film screenings and discussions, and our new Speak Your Truth: A Queer History of UCF project.

Summer Graduate Workshops

UCF Libraries, in partnership with the College of Graduate Studies Pathways to Success is offering a full slate of graduate workshops during the summer 2018 semester including Library Research & Literature Review Strategies, EndNote & RefWorks: Citing Made Easy, Useful Apps All Grad Students Should Love & Use, Optimizing Your Online Presence, Where to Publish & Author Rights, and Presentation Skills.

Registration for these workshops is required and is done through myUCF (Student Center → Graduate Students → Pathways to Success)

1st Floor Closure Begins May 29

Pardon our DuckBeginning Tuesday, May 29, the 1st floor of the John C. Hitt Library will be closed to prepare for and start construction.

Please pardon the noise, dust, and inconvenience.

Need a book on shelves A – F? Find it in the library catalog, and click on the “Request” link. You will be notified when you can pick up your book at the Circulation Desk on the main (2nd) floor.

Assistance with Government Documents and the documents collection can be requested at the Research and Information Desk on 2nd (main) floor.
Earplugs remain available at the Circulation Desk.

New Summer Exhibit at Rosen Library: Celebrity Chefs!

The Rosen Library’s new exhibit showcases celebrity chefs and their signature recipes. Peruse a collection of memoirs and recipe books from Nobu to Ina Garten. Included in the exhibit is a binder detailing each featured chef’s signature dish or favorite cocktail.

June Stillman Scholarship recipiant Sara Nazarian

Congratulations, Sara Nazarian!

ORLANDO, May 2018 – The University of Central Florida Libraries proudly announces the 2018 recipient of the June S Stillman Memorial Endowed Scholarship Sara Nazarian.

Sara Nazarian is a junior with a double major (History & Music), a GPA of 3.6, and plans to attend graduate school for a master’s in Museum Studies.  She began working as a library student assistant in Circulation Services in the John C. Hitt Library in May 2017.

The focus of her studies leads her to pursue internships, both domestic and international.  Her plans include spending a summer in Cuba to work on her undergraduate thesis on sex trafficking in Cuba.
