7 Questions with Min Tong!

Today we’re celebrating our UCF’s boss of business, Min Tong. Min works as a Business Librarian in our Research Engagement department and is responsible for meeting the research needs of students and faculty in the College of Business Administration (COBA). Min also supports the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, the Blackstone Launchpad, and serves as the library’s primary contact with Global UCF. She is an invaluable asset to students and faculty alike; she is known for her thoroughness, patience, preparation, perceptiveness, and passion. Min embodies what it means to be a productive and efficient team member – she’s thoughtful and organized and gives that extra effort to sustain the services she provides. We sat down with Min to learn more about her and get a little bit of insight into the source of her dedication!

7 Questions with Access Services guru, Justin McGill

Meet Justin McGill, a longtime member of the UCF Libraries team and a dedicated advocate for supporting campus resources. Starting his journey as a student assistant, Justin has grown within the organization to become the Stacks Unit Supervisor, a role he has held since December 2023. A proud UCF graduate, Justin earned his master’s degree in music in May 2024, combining his academic achievements with his passion for the arts. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he lends his vocal talents to a small choir, further highlighting his love for music. Let’s dive into Justin’s journey and the invaluable contributions he makes to UCF Libraries.

Tacko Fall: To New Heights

New book alert! UCF Basketball fans will be familiar with the author of one of our newest autobiographies, Tacko Fall: To New Heights. Great book to read with your kids or younger siblings; it tells the story of Tacko’s early life in Senegal and immigration to America to play basketball. Out of forty colleges vying for his attention, Fall chose University of Central Florida where he helped lead the Knights to the 2019 NCAAS tournament. He qualified for the NBA draft by his sophomore year but chose to finish his degree first in 2019 and was signed by the Boston Celtics after graduation. Get the whole inspiring and fun story from our Curriculum Materials Center in the Education building rm 194.

2024 Winter Intercession Hours – UCF Libraries

While you can usually count on the John C. Hitt Library to be open, there are some days when library hours change. This is usually done to accommodate national holidays, football games, and more. UCF Libraries will have adjusted hours during the the 2024 winter intersession, and you can always check our hours for every UCF Libraries location and most up-to-date schedule here on our Hours page.

  • December 14-15 (Saturday-Sunday) CLOSED
  • December 16-18 (Monday-Wednesday) 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • December 19 – January 1 CLOSED
  • January 2-3 (Thursday-Friday) 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • January 4 (Saturday) CLOSED
  • January 5 (Sunday) 12:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m
  • January 6 (Monday) First Day of Classes: 7:30am – 1:00am
