Handling Materials

To protect our rare and unique collection materials, please handle with care. We ask that researchers…

  1. Use clean and dry hands. Restrooms are located nearby for handwashing.
  1. Keep foldered material flat on the table, turning the pages like a book.
  1. Keep materials in protective housing, such as transparent sleeves.
  1. Take only one folder out of the box at a time, using an out card to mark your place.
  1. Maintain the order of the folders in the box and the order of items within folders.
  1. Set rare books on provided foam supports.
  1. Avoid writing, erasing, tracing, or taking notes on top of materials.

We appreciate your help in ensuring the long-term preservation of these unique materials!
