Multiple Bookworks

Multiple bookworks are a fairly recent artform, starting in the early 1960s. Multiple bookworks rely on commercial printing techniques such as mimeographs or offset printing while some are even produced with household copiers. They are printed in large editions, several hundred or more, and are fairly inexpensive. These traits mean that they are more geared towards the public and can often contain avant-garde or radical ideas. Being so accessable to the public, they are excellent mediums for dissemination of information or ideas.
