UCF Special Collections & University Archives is home to the scholarly research collection, the William L. Bryant West Indies Collection. The collection includes books, paintings sculpture audio recordings, as well as a wide variety of original and print maps depicting the Caribbean and West Indies region. Below is a small sampling of the types of maps available in this collection. As more maps are cataloged and digitized, they will be added here.

"Insulę Americanę in Oceano Septentrionali cum terris adjacentibus" by Willem Janszoon Blaeu This map was detached from Blaeu's Le theatre du monde ou Novvel atlas, published in 1635. The map side is primarily in Latin and Spanish while the reverse side is French text. |

"An accurate map of the West Indies" by Emanuel Bowen Originally published in The Gentleman's Magazine, this 1740 map was created for "the curious as well as students" in showing the features of the West Indies. |

"Carta di S. Domingo, guista quella di Poirson" by Jean Baptiste Poirson Hand colored 1821 Italian language map of Jamaica. UCF is one of only two libraries in the world holding this particular map. |
