Archival Adventures: Working with UCF’s Unique Collections by Alyssa Adkins

Hello! My name is Alyssa Adkins, and I am a junior at the University of Central Florida working toward my bachelor’s in history. During the Fall 2025 semester, I was given the amazing opportunity to be the Processing Intern and work with UCF Libraries’ Special Collection & University Archives (SCUA) team. My work consisted of processing three collections: the Richard Crepeau U.S. Bicentennial collection, the UCF International Student Association collection, and the UCF Office of Global Perspectives & International Initiatives records.

UCF Libraries Welcomes Chelsea Dinsmore as Associate Dean for Resources & Discovery

The University of Central Florida Libraries has appointed Chelsea S. Dinsmore as the new Associate Dean for Resources & Discovery. Chelsea brings more than two decades of leadership experience in digital collections, metadata innovation, and collaborative scholarship to the role, and will lead our effort to improve library resource access.

OverKnight Study – Fall 2025

We are pleased to announce that OverKnight Study is back for the Final Exam period of the Fall semester! We’re offering extended hours on selected dates in the John C. Hitt Library from 1:00am – 6:00am on specific days. Amenities include 200 study seats, access to desktop PCs, drink and snack machines and security staffing. From directly assisting patrons to curating new ways for patron engagement, she ensures that the UCF Library is a pleasant and inviting space for students, faculty, and community members. With her adaptability, creativity, and passion for community engagement, Elyse sets the tone for the public perception of the library, as well as the way in which it connects with its users.
