UCF Libraries has many newly renovated spaces available for use in our buildings including an event space, meeting rooms, study rooms and instruction rooms. Each type of space has policies guiding the use and reservation protocols. Please continue scrolling to learn about our available spaces.
John C. Hitt Library Solarium – Room 402


As part of the 21st Century Library renovations, a spectacular Multipurpose event space was added to the 4th floor of the John C. Hitt Library overlooking the Student Union facing entrance. This room can seat up to 110 guests depending on room set up and has space for catering setup. The room is bookable by Libraries Employees only. The Gallery – Room 403

The Gallery is a dedicated exhibition space on the fourth floor for Special Collections & University Archives to display art, rare collections, and archival materials.
John C. Hitt Library Reading Room – 405



The quiet study space on the 4th Floor of the John C. Hitt Library is a serene and spacious area designed for focused academic work. It features 235 seats, providing ample room for students to spread out and concentrate. The room boasts high vaulted ceilings, which add to the airy and open atmosphere, making it an inviting place to study. One of its most striking features is the 270-degree view of the UCF campus, allowing natural light to flood in and offering inspiring vistas that can help refresh the mind during study breaks. This combination of thoughtful design elements creates an ideal environment for productive studying.
Digital Exploration Center – Room 425







The Digital Exploration Center (DEC) is an experiential, interdisciplinary space that serves as a hub for students and faculty to develop digital projects with an emphasis on collaboration and experimentation. The DEC functions as a premier space for immersive technologies, digital scholarship, and creative production where our staff empowers the exploration of UCF researchers, faculty, and students. Our goal is to encourage users to explore the intersection of technology and research through cutting edge tools, expert consultation, new digital methodologies, and innovative programming.
John C. Hitt Library Silent Study – Room 450


Located on the 4th Floor of the John C. Hitt Library, the Silent Study Space offers a quiet and focused environment for students seeking uninterrupted concentration. With 131 seats available, it is designed to accommodate individual study needs in a peaceful setting. To maintain the silence, students are required to silence their cell phones, and talking is strictly prohibited. This space is ideal for those who prefer a distraction-free atmosphere to read, write, or work on assignments.
Study Rooms


The UCF Libraries offers study rooms at multiple campus locations which are bookable by UCF students, faculty and staff for up to 4 hours a day. To read study room policies and view availability, visit the Study Rooms page.
Suite 360 Conference Rooms


As part of the 21st Century Library renovations, 2 conference rooms were added to the 3rd floor of the John C. Hitt Library within the 360 Study Commons suite. These conference rooms can seat up to 12 people and are available for booking via LibCal with from the Large Study Rooms page.
John C. Hitt Library Instruction Rooms
UCF Libraries has two Instruction Rooms in the John C. Hitt Library.

Room 170

Room 170, the Dr. Joel Hartman Room, is an active learning room seating 36. Room 170 is available for Registered Student Organizations to book no more than two weeks in advance and is not available to book for the first six weeks of the semester.
John C. Hitt Library Art Displays


The Art Wall and Glass Display cases on the main floor of the John C. Hitt Library are can be booked by UCF and Community groups for a month long display. Examples of previous displays include She Persisted – Women’s History Month at UCF (2018), Africana Studies (2018), Pulse 5th Anniversary Memorial (2021), and Lunar New Year (2023).
