Traditions

In 1971, FTU did not yet have a Homecoming Parade, but a skit night called “Nite of Knights” made its debut. Two parades were held in 1975: one on campus and one through Winter Park. It was not until 1977 that Homecoming settled its parade route from the Utility building around the Reflecting Pond and back to the Village Center where a pep rally was held. The Homecoming Parade moved to downtown in 1992, where it still remains. Though when the new stadium opens, perhaps the parade will return to recreate a great campus tradition.
