TRACKING MILLIONS IN POTENTIAL STUDENT SAVINGS

UCF Libraries have been tracking faculty adoptions of affordable course materials since 2016, documenting students’ potential savings and supporting academic success.

Faculty have potentially saved students over $15 million.

LEGANTO TRACKS SAVINGS

Following a pilot phase, Leganto now serves as the UCF Libraries’ primary tool for capturing and reporting course material savings data in spring 2025, replacing the manual tracking methods used in previous years.

In spring 2025 alone, Leganto shows that faculty potentially saved students $1,401,375.

Support your students’ success and ensure your efforts are captured in these savings by adding affordable materials to your course through Leganto.

HISTORICAL DATA

From 2016-2024, UCF faculty taught 4,187 course sections using library-sourced materials, in turn reaching 183,235 student enrollments and potentially saving them over $13 million.

This process involved manually reviewing courses, then calculating savings as a cost of a new book by number of course enrollments. The new methods now use Leganto and capture a broader range of affordable course material types.
