The UCF Universal Orlando Foundation Library at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management
is pleased to announce that it will host the exhibit The Making of an Amusement Park
Attraction: Stephen Danks Lodwick and the Creation of Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls
from August 16th through October 15th.
The exhibit explores the life and work of Stephen Danks Lodwick (1947-2002), an illustrator and concept designer for theme parks, rides, and attractions. Among the items on display are original drawings and storyboards produced by Mr. Lodwick for the design of the popular Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls water ride at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park.
Tim Bottorff, Reference Librarian at the Universal Orlando Foundation Library, is guest curating the special exhibit, with the assistance of Dannie Helm, Liz Konzak, and Carla Summers in the UCF Libraries Special Collections Department.
We hope you will join the staff of the Universal Orlando Foundation Library as we explore the
history of a popular central Florida attraction and the life of an artist whose work may still
be seen today at Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, and many other amusement parks around
the world.
