Photocopy & Printing Services

Photocopy and printing policies at the Universal Orlando Foundation Library are outlined below. If you have any questions, please Ask a Rosen Librarian.

Photocopiers

Two black and white photocopy machines are located on the east wall of the Universal Orlando Foundation Library.  The copiers accept cash, coins, or funds on the UCF Card. The cost of photocopies is as follows:

  • $0.10 per page for single sided letter (8.5x11) or legal (8.5x14) size paper
  • $0.20 per page for double sided letter (8.5x11) or legal (8.5x14) size paper
  • $0.20 per page for single sided ledger (11x17) size paper
  • $0.40 per page for double sided ledger (11x17) size paper

One copier has an automatic document feeder and can produce single or double sided copies on either letter (8.5x11) or ledger (11x17) size paper. The second one has a "Binder Minder" top (which helps protect the binding of books and journals) and can produce single or double sided copies on letter (8.5x11), legal (8.5x14), or ledger (11x17) size paper.

Printer

Two black and white printers are located in the center of the library.  Printing (single sided only) costs $0.10 per page and may be purchased only with the UCF Card.

To print to the public printer:

  1. Select a document to print as usual (e.g., click on the printer icon in the menu at the top of the screen).
  2. When prompted, enter a name for the print job (e.g., initials or a name) and click <OK>.
  3. Swipe a UCF Card in the card reader next to the printer and when prompted enter your PIN (by default, the last four digits of your PID) .  Select the appropriate print job and click <Print>.  The exact cost of the print job, the number of pages in the document, and the balance on the UCF Card will display.

UCF Cards

UCF faculty, staff, and students must use their UCF Card for all printing in the Universal Orlando Foundation Library.  UCF Cards are issued by the UCF Card Services office, which is based on the main Orlando campus.  Occasionally, the UCF Card Services office comes to the Rosen campus to issue cards; check with Rosen Student Services for information about upcoming UCF Card Services visits.   For additional information about the UCF Card, please visit: http://www.ucfcard.ucf.edu/.

Additional value (in $1, $5, $10, or $20 increments) may be added to the UCF Card at the KnightCash machine located next to the front desk or through the UCF Card Services website.

Change

The Universal Orlando Foundation Library is completely cashless and therefore cannot make change.  Change for larger bills is sometimes available from the Rosen Bookstore or Cafeteria.

Visitors

Visitors who are not affiliated with UCF can request to use the Rosen Visitor Card.  Visitors will need to add money to the card in $1 increments via the KnightCash machine located next to the front desk.  Refunds are not available, so visitors are encouraged to add to the card only the amount of money they plan to use.

Patrons with Disabilities

All copiers and printers are configured to be ADA compliant and to be accessible for patrons with physical disabilities.  In addition, a computer workstation with assistive software, such as JAWS and ZoomText, is available near the photocopiers.

Lost Cards

Lost UCF Cards will be temporarily held at the library's lost and found box behind the front desk.  However, the library will return lost cards to the UCF Card Services office on the Orlando campus at the end of every semester.  UCF Card holders should remember that "purse one" can be used for a number of purchases around campus other than photocopying.  Lost cards can be redeemed by presenting identification that matches the name and signature on the card.

Remaining Balances

The library is unable to issue any cash refunds, including the balance remaining on a UCF Card (e.g., after graduation, separation from the university, etc.).  Patrons should manage the balances on their cards accordingly.

Refunds

Patrons requesting refunds for money loss due to machine malfunctions should report the loss to the front desk. Patrons having trouble with their UCF Cards should contact the Card Services office at 407-823-2100 or cardsrvc@mail.ucf.edu.

For Additional Information

The library's goal is to deliver high quality copy and printing services.  For additional information or to comment on the library's copy and printing services, please Ask a Rosen Librarian.
