Services for Distance Learners

The UCF Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Department is committed to supporting the research of UCF online distance learners. If you have a question about a specific request, or need clarification about the following services, please contact our office.

Note

Only students taking all online classes are considered distance learners.

UCF Document Delivery Interlibrary Loan
Description UCF-owned articles and book chapters are scanned for electronic delivery through the ILLiad system. UCF-owned books are checked out to your library account and delivered delivered by mail to your home address. Books and articles are located and requested from U.S. and some international libraries. Articles are delivered electronically through the ILLiad system, books are delivered by mail to your home address.
Fees You are responsible for return postage for books. Fees up to $35.00 per item subsidized by the ILL/DDS Dept.

Delivery Time Articles: 24 to 48 hours
Books: 5 to 10 days
(Items not located at UCF Main Campus are automatically requested via interlibrary loan.)
Articles: 5 to 10 days
Books: 10 to 15 days
Book Loan Period Standard checkout
(Books are checked out to your UCF library account.)
Typically 2 to 3 weeks (set by lending library)
Renewals UCF-owned books requested through Document Delivery may be renewed by logging into your library account. One, at the discretion of the lending library (typically 2 weeks). Choose the “Request Renewal” tab within ILLiad.
