Ahoy, mateys! Today be International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Ye need ter use Mango Languages ter ready yer pirate speak!

(Yes, Mango really does have a Pirate course! It has over sixty languages available for you to learn for free through the UCF Libraries!)

Lookin’ ter show off more o’ yer pirate speak? Belay yer carousin’ and be lookin’ forward ter Open Access Week!

(Mark your calendars for Open Access Week starting October 24 for more pirate-themed fun!)

The UCF Libraries is happy to offer workshops on important topics throughout the semester. We have one set of workshops for all students, and another for graduate students.

Join us to learn how to export citations from library databases, organize your citations, generate bibliographies, and format your citations in a Word document. All sessions cover both products! Please bring your own laptop if you would like to follow along with the presentation.

Superpower Banner

Discover Your Superpowers at the UCF Libraries!

All UCF students are invited to use a mobile device to complete a superhero mission in the John C. Hitt Library.

From August 29-September 2nd, you can choose to join a mission that will ask you to make several stops around the library to discover your library superpowers.  Everyone who completes the mission will be entered to win a prize, and all superheroes will get a cookie or snack.  Prizes in the drawing include a limited edition UCF Libraries Superhero tshirt, a tour of UCF Special Collections and University Archives including a photo op with Vinnie the Vulture, UCF Theatre tickets, and more.

There will be a table set up in the Knowledge Commons, just past the library entry on the main floor, with instructions and special prizes.

Summer Knights Reading Challenge – Win a Kindle Fire!

The Summer Knights Reading Challenge starts June 1 and ends August 1, 2016 and is open to all UCF students, faculty, and staff.

Participation
Submit the number of pages you read on our Summer Knights Reading Challenge guide. Check the leaderboard each week.

Prizes
If you read 500 pages, you will get a prize pack (while supplies last).
Read the most pages overall and win a Kindle Fire
Read the second most pages overall and win a Knightro Nike bag full of UCF merchandise.
Read the third most pages overall and win a $25 Starbucks gift card
Five randomly selected participants will win a voucher good for one free item from Jeremiah’s Italian Ice

Winners will be announced August 10, 2016
