Getting a UCF ID Card

Checking out books

To check out materials from the LSSC library present your UCF student ID card.

To check out materials held by the Lake County Public Library System, please obtain a Lake County Library Card by presenting your UCF ID and one proof of residency at the Circulation Desk.

A wheelchair accessible computer is located in the open computer area.

Audiovisual Materials

Videos can be requested at the Circulation Desk on the first floor and must be viewed by students in the library. Full-time faculty may check out videos for two weeks, adjunct faculty for one week.

Borrowing Materials

To obtain a library card, take your UCF ID to the Circulation Desk for validation. Students may borrow up to 15 items on any one subject at a time for a period of 3 weeks. Items may be renewed once for 3 additional weeks. For lost items, you will be billed for the cost of replacement plus a $30.00 processing fee. Faculty are given semester borrowing on most items.

Collections

Cooper Library shares a joint collection with Lake Sumter State College and Lake County Public Library System. All three collection are available for check-out to UCF students.

Computer Access

Students must bring their UCF ID card to the Reference desk to be added to the computer system or use a guest pass.

Printing/Copying/Scanning

Students must bring their UCF ID card to the Reference desk to be added to the computer system. Funds can be added to your UCF ID account by using the SAM Kiosk. Computer printouts cost 10 cents per page. Faculty have access to copiers in the Higher Education Facility in Clermont. A copier is located near the printer. Photocopies cost 10 cents per page and can be paid for by inserting money directly into the copy machine. 3 Self-service scanners located in the open computer area on the 2nd floor. Free limited printing is available in the Building 2 UCF computer lab.

Reserve Materials

Items on reserve can be requested at the Service Desk. Request an item by course name, number, or professor. Loan periods vary and usually depend on the faculty member.

Study Rooms

Students can reserve 1 of 9 study rooms available by stopping by the Reference Desk or calling (352) 536-2275. Rooms are available for a 2 hour period. Room D and the Conference Room have projectors.

Technology Lending

Calculators are available for check-out.
