The UCF Library Catalog will help you locate books, journals, DVDs, and many other kinds of materials on your topic.

Basic Search from the Homepage

You can perform a Basic Catalog Search right on the UCF Rosen Library's homepage. Most of the time you will want to start with an Anywhere (Keyword) search, but you can also search by title, author, subject or other ways:

Understanding Search Results

The results of a catalog search will provide you with vital information for each item:

1Narrow Results:

  • These options allow you to refine the search for better results. For example, you can search for BOOKS at the ROSEN campus library.

2Title:

  • The title, author, and publication date of the work can be found here. Click on the blue hyperlink to see more information about the work.

3Format:

  • This is a brief explanation of the format of the available item (e.g., Book, DVD Journal, etc.).

4Location:

  • The campus library where the item is available (e.g., Rosen, Main Library, CMC, etc.), the collection where the item may be found (e.g., Reference or General Collection), and the call number (where the item can be found on the shelf).

  • For information about obtaining materials from other campus libraries for pick-up at Rosen, please see the Rosen Research Guide on Interlibrary Loan.

5Availability:

  • Items marked "Available" are on the shelf ready for checkout. Items currently checked out will display the due date. A hold may be placed on these items, and you will received an email when they are available for pick-up.

1Quick Links:

  • Some items provide a link to Google Books, which may provide more information about the item.

3Location Information:

  • Information on the item's location, call number, status, and due date, if applicable, can be found here.
