In addition to our primary mission of serving the members of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management and of the greater UCF community, we are also happy to provide some assistance to UCF alumni, hospitality industry professionals, community members, visiting researchers, and other visitors. Some of these services are summarized below.
If you have any questions regarding Universal Orlando Foundation Library's services or policies, please Ask a Rosen Librarian.
Our 36 computer workstations are available to visitors during normal operating hours Visitors will need to request a guest login and password from a staff member at the library front desk in order to access the computers.
Visitors and alumni are welcome to use our databases and other electronic resources when using our computers IN THE LIBRARY. Access to databases from OFF-CAMPUS, however, is available only to currently-enrolled students and currently-employed staff and faculty.
You may come to the library and freely consult (and/or make photocopies of pages from) periodicals, circulating books, reference books, and most other types of materials. Note that some restrictions may apply, such as for items that an instructor has placed on reserve for a particular course.
Items on course reserve may be checked out to visitors and alumni by library staff at the front desk for in-house use only. We will need to hold on to a driverís license or government-issued ID card while you use reserve items.
We regret that we cannot extend borrowing privileges to visitors free of charge. Checking books out of the building is normally available only to currently-enrolled students and currently-employed staff and faculty. This service is also available (up to 10 items at a time) for Special Borrower card holders (available for $30 for 6 months or $60 for one year) and must be purchased at the John C. Hitt Library on the main campus. For information about obtaining a borrowing card for a fee, please consult the Library Cards page available through UCF's Information Source website. Please note that this fee-based borrowing card primarily allows visitors to borrow books from the Universal Orlando Foundation Library; other materials (such as audiovisual or multimedia items) may not be checked out with the fee-based card; please Ask a Rosen Librarian for more information.
Information Source is a fee-based research and document delivery service. Information Source specializes in areas such as market research, competitive intelligence, and patent and trademark services. Information Source also offers a fee-based borrowing card to central Florida community patrons. Consult the Information Source website for additional information.
We are happy to offer basic assistance in how to search our online catalog, in how to access some of our full-text electronic resources, and in how to get started on various kinds of research. Due to our mission to serve the students and faculty members of the Rosen College and of the greater UCF community, we regret that we are unable to perform in-depth research for visitors. For extensive research, or for those who are unable to visit the Universal Orlando Foundation Library in person, we suggest that you consider using UCF's Information Source service.
Please see our Photocopy and Printing Services page.
Please see our Library Policies page.
Alumni are entitled to all of the above services for visitors to the library. In addition, Lifetime Members of the UCF Alumni Association may check out library books free of charge. For more information about this membership, please see the Knights for Life webpage.
