The following materials are mainly about Orange County, Florida. Most are not indexed nor do they have guides, except for an occasional guide on the microform itself. The time period covered by these sets ranges from 1576 to 1968; most of the information is from the 1800's. These materials are in the microfilm (MFLM) and microfiche (MFCH) cabinets on the 3rd floor of the UCF Library. See also Florida History Resources and the listing of Florida Newspapers available.
Some additional historical documents dealing with Florida may be available in other UCF microfiche resources, such as the American State Papers, U.S. Congressional Serial Set, and CIS U.S. Congressional Committee Hearings, indexed online in LexisNexis Congressional. The UCF Library's Reference Collection [REF F311 through F317] includes several finding tools, such as the four-volume work by James & Lana Servies, A Bibliography of Florida, 1507-1915. The Orange County Regional History Center, the Genealogy Department of the Orlando Public Library, and other local institutions may also have materials of interest. Some historical documents about Florida are also available online through resources listed in Publication of Archival, Library & Museum Materials (PALMM), a cooperative initiative of the State University System of Florida.
