Government CD-ROM Resources

List of Some CD-ROMs | Other Resources

The UCF Library provides access to government information stored on CD-ROMs and DVDs in five ways:

(1) Links to Web-based versions of the same data, listed below

(2) Patents Computers #1 and #2 provide access to patent and trademark DVDs.

(3) CD-ROM Research Computer #42 - available for installation and loading of government CD-ROM/DVDs.  NOTE:  Accessing the data on some CD-ROMs requires special software not available in the UCF Library and not provided on the CD-ROM.

(4) CD-ROM Research Computer #45 - Used for older CD-ROMs that do not work with newer, faster processors.

(5) Circulate some CD-ROMs to users with valid UCF library cards for use on their office or home computers.  NOTE:  Accessing the data on some CD-ROMs requires special software not available in the UCF Library and not provided on the CD-ROM.

The Web version is much easier to use. If you are using the CD-ROMs, to view data for states and regions other than Florida, exchange the CD you want to view with the Florida CD in the appropriate drive as  identified on this list (e.g, 1990 Census by State-GA would replace the FL CD in drive B2/K).  Please remember to put the Florida CD back in the appropriate drive when you are done.

Retrieve the appropriate CD-ROM from the storage cabinet and put it in the top drive of the CD tower of Computer #45 only.
