The extensions for publication type are based on the Superintendent of Documents Classification System:

/3 serials and periodicals
/4 bulletin and circulars
/5 press releases
/6 handbooks, manuals, guides
/7 bibliographies and lists of publications
/8 directories
/9 maps and charts
/10 posters
/11 forms
/12 addresses, lectures, etc.
/13 conference proceedings, meetings, workshops
/14 proposals and recommendations
