		  Collection is a collection of reports, brochures, memorabilia, articles and
		  news clippings about Disney Enterprises and the Walt Disney World Resort in
		  Central Florida. The collection contains materials related to the different
		  locations within the resort complex, including information about the Disney
		  parks, resorts and other attractions. Publications in the collection were
		  produced by both the Disney Corporation and outside sources.</abstract>

		<p>These materials were donated to the University of Central Florida
		  Libraries, Special Collections and University Archives by Dean DeBolt in 2004
		  and Julia Arias in 2008. The ephemera were primarily collected by DeBolt, with
		  a small number of recent submissions by Arias; however, the University has
		  added, and will continue to add, material relevant to the history of Disney,
		  particularly in Central Florida.</p>

		<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head> 
		<p>Dean DeBolt is the head of special collections at the University of
		  West Florida Library. DeBolt collected a number of materials during his
		  vacations at the Walt Disney World Resort and donated them to the University of
		  Central Florida Libraries Special Collections in 2004 because of the
		  University's close proximity to Walt Disney World. Julia Arias, a Disney
		  employee and enthusiast, collected materials for her daughter while on vacation
		  at Walt Disney World Resort.</p> 
		<p>Disney Enterprises, Inc. is a Delaware Corporation with its principal
		  place of business in Burbank, California and is an entertainment company and
		  owner of a vast array of intellectual properties including live-action and
		  animated movies and television shows. Walt Disney World opened in 1971 with the
		  Magic Kingdom as the first theme park. By 2007, it had expanded to include four
		  theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, numerous resort hotels and a
		  variety of other entertainment and recreation centers.</p>

		<head> Collection Scope and Content</head> 
		<arrangement> 
		  <p>This collection is arranged into four series: information about the
			 Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Publications, Publications about Disney, and
			 Disney Memorabilia. Information about the Walt Disney World Resort was further
			 divided by location within the resort area. Disney Publications were divided
			 into type of publication and Publications about Disney were split into magazine
			 articles and newspaper articles.</p>

		<p>The Disney Ephemera Collection is a collection of Disney guides,
		  reports, brochures and news clippings related to the Walt Disney World Resort
		  located in Central Florida and Disney Enterprises from the 1970s through the
		  present day.</p> 
		<p>Series I: Walt Disney World Resort, 1980-2007 contains materials
		  related to the different attractions in the Walt Disney World Resort located in
		  Central Florida. This includes general vacation guides, as well as information
		  about the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM, Animal Kingdom, the Walt Disney World
		  resorts and other Walt Disney World attractions, such as, Pleasure Island and
		  Typhoon Lagoon.</p> 
		<p>Series II: Disney Publications, 1977-2009 consists of publications
		  produced by the Disney Corporation. The series is divided into type of
		  publication and includes annual and quarterly reports and copies of
		  publications such as 
		<title render="italic">Walt Disney World News</title> and 
		<title render="italic">The Disneyana Collector</title>. This series also
		includes paper and plastic bags from a number of places around the resort
		complex.</p> 
		<p>Series III: Publications about Disney, 1971-2007 includes articles
		  from publications about Disney produced by outside sources. The series contains
		  magazine articles about Disney included in publications about Florida, such as 
		<title render="italic">Florida Trend</title> magazine, and national
		publications such as 
		<title render="italic">Newsweek</title>, as well as newspaper articles
		from sources such as 
		<title render="italic">USA Today</title>.</p> 
		<p>Series IV: Disney Memorabilia, undated-2007 includes various items
		  collected from Walt Disney World promotions until as recently as 2007. This
		  series contains plates, cups, stationaries, bags, boxes, and other various
		  pieces relating to Walt Disney World parks and resorts.</p>

				generally by location but begins with a folder of vacation guides that cover

				folders include park brochures and entertainment schedules related to the Magic
				Kingdom, EPCOT and MGM. The Magic Kingdom folder also contains postcards from
				the park and a "Dial Guide" map of the park. Postcards are also included in the
				folder pertaining to the Resorts, which includes materials from the Wilderness
				Lodge, the Polynesian Resort, Dixie Landings and Port Orleans. Other Walt
				Disney World Attractions consists of materials from Pleasure Island, Walt
				Disney World Marketplace, Discovery Island and the water parks, such as,

			 there are many issues but not a complete run of either publication. The series
			 also contains bags printed by Disney from around the resort and miscellaneous
