<bioghist id="a2" encodinganalog="545"><head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>The Cultural Byways Project was a joint program with UCF Institute of Simulation and Training and Central Florida Heritage Alliance Program. This project was to provide the LYNX bus system in Orlando with a cultural byways program to air history about Orlando and its buildings to educate LYNX riders about the history and traditional culture of each route. UCF College of Arts and Sciences created the program in 2002 as a joint effort with the Department of State Florida Folklife Programs. Oral histories and photographs were collected by researcher Robert Stone. </p>

<scopecontent><p>Photographs of oral history interviewees conducting cultural activities and audio files of the interviews can be found in this series. Noteable topics of the audio files include ghost tours, making guiros, Sushi and Thai food, and tattooing. The photographs are of the people interviewed demonstrating their cultural talent. Historic Orlando properties and demolished properties are part of the Orlando survey. Folders within this series describe the history of the properties and of the people who lived in them. These surveys contain information about architecture and artifacts, people interviewed, additional bibliographic citations, and other useful comments to the researcher. The 1st Quarter Status Report provides a program report on the research done for the grant.</p></scopecontent>
