Christian Bauer was a professor of computer engineering at the
University of Central Florida from 1970 through 2008, when he retired. He
served on this Task Force, which was to regulate Big Box stores. These
ordinances included regulating how far these stores were built from schools and
residential housing, controlling of street lights, regulating carts,
controlling traffic, and landscaping. The Orange County Commissioners
eventually failed to pass these regulations for the Big Box stores.
