Library Self-Guided Tour

Introduction

A basic introduction to research is the first step towards a successful educational experience. This tour offers a convenient way for new library users to familiarize themselves with the UCF Library, collections, research resources, and services. It is available at the Reference Desk, located past the Circulation Desk on the ground floor of the Library, during all regular library hours and takes about 45 minutes to complete the walk with accompanying practice exercises. After completing the tour, users should know:

  • basic search techniques for using the UCF Library Catalog

  • locations of services and collections on the 2nd and 3rd floors

  • how to locate journals in the UCF Library Catalog

  • methods for finding journal article citations in an index or database
