Services

Reference is here to help you use the UCF Library and Library resources, and to help find high-quality, relevant information. We provide both immediate assistance and instruction to students, faculty, UCF employees and members of the community. The Reference Librarians frequently help patrons:

• Search the UCF Library Catalog.
• Find journal articles, both Online and in print.
• Select an appropriate Index or Electronic Resource for a subject.
• Find and use Government Documents.
• Find and use Reference Books.

Other Service and Units

The Reference Department is multifaceted and includes the following units:

Ask a Librarian	Answering brief questions via telephone, e-mail, and chat.
Government Documents	Collecting government publications and helping people find government information.
Patents	Providing patents, patent search software, and limited patent assistance.
Library Instruction	Teaching UCF classes and other groups about the Library and library resources.
UCF Information Source	Serving community patrons through a fee-based service.
Research Consultation	One-on-one appointment with a librarian for extensive, in-depth research assistance.
