Legal strategies, dummy corporations and covert maneuvers. This is the story of how 27,000 acres of swamp became the “happiest place on Earth,” according to author Chad Emerson. In his book, “Project Future: The Inside Story Behind the Creation of Disney World,” Emerson recounts the complex events that enabled the code name, Project Future, to become the modern day Walt Disney World. Emerson will be in room 223 at the UCF Library on the main campus from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, to discuss his research into Walt Disney World’s past. He will answer questions and sign copies of his book. The event is free and open to the public.
