Benefit: There is no reason for one person to be alone in a room for groups.
from the library: In the early, pearly hours of the morning, the early bird gets the worm----and the single student may get a study room key.
If the library is not too busy, and most of the study rooms are vacant, the staff at Circulation may decide to issue a key to a single student, to maximize use of thte rooms. For most hours the 2 or more persons rule is in place.
If you are looking at a room occupied by one person, it could be because the other occupants are gathering materials or have taken a quick break.
Note: Graduate study rooms, on 3rd floor, are smaller and may be checked out to one person at a time.
Another Note: Check the Study Room Availability page when you are at the library, or before you come to the library.
