The UCF Libraries has acquired, processed and made available the DeVos Sport Business Management Collection through the generosity of Dr. Richard Lapchick. This is a collection of professional sports media guides for several professional sports. A total of 182 titles were added, some containing multiple volumes for a total of 835 media guides. These represent a large portion of major professional sports teams. They are used by students doing research in the Sports Management program.
Professional sports teams produce guides for the media each new season. They serve as a comprehensive source of information on the team, its players, coaches, schedule, history and statistics, for use by print and broadcast media.
In addition, Dr. Lapchick has donated 14 books that he has authored, relating to sports management. These, along with other works authored by Dr. Lapchick, can be found in the UCF Library catalog.
The collection displayed on the third floor of the Orlando campus library is available for use in the library.
