How do you renew your book online because I'm seriously lost?
The website was recently having some problems with online renewals but has since been fixed. You should now be able to renew your items at https://cf.catalog.fcla.edu/cf.jsp?Login=1 If you have any trouble, please contact Ask A Librarian via their website:

Also if you want to be entered in the contest, you MUST ask your question through Ask A Librarian chat available from the above webpage.
How do you find a book in the library?
Hello,
I am an membership-holding alumnae of UCF (I am registered through the UCF Alumni Association) and I was wondering what library services I have access to as an Alumni Association member. Thank you.
Thank you for writing to the library.
As an alumna, your Association card will let you check out books from the collection of the UCF Libraries. If you have any more questions about your borrowing privilege, you are welcome to contact Ask A Librarian at http://library.ucf.edu/Ask/ The Alumni card does not provide for remote access to electronic journals or databases; many are interested in access, although you did not mention it. Anyone is welcome to use those electronic resources in the library, and of course we would be very happy for you---and all alumni--to return to campus to visit the library.
How to find a book in the library---
http://library.ucf.edu/Reference/Instruction/find.asp has instructions for finding books and articles in the library. Streaming video and text instructions are available at that site. If you are having difficutly finding a book on the shelf, ask at the Circulation Desk on the 2nd (main) floor. If you are trying to find a book or article on a particular topic and are having difficulty with the online catalog, ask at the Reference Desk on the 2nd (main) floor. The regional campus libraries, the Universal Orlando Foundation Library at the Rosen College, and the CMC in the College of Education also have service desks that will assist you in finding materials. And Ask A Librarian at http://library.ucf.edu/Ask can help you as well.
Is it possible to reserve a book online?
It is not possible to reserve a book using the online catalog.
If you are a faculty member and wish to place a book on Course Reserves, there is a form linked to the page on Library Services and Resources for Faculty, http://library.ucf.edu/Services/Faculty.asp, which can be sent to the Library to place materials on reserve.
If you are searching for a book, and the catalog record for the book shows that it is checked out, below the Due Date, there will be a link titled Place on Hold. Clicking on that link will place a hold on the item when it is returned. The patron who has the item checked out will not be able to renew it, and when it is returned, you will be notified. The item will be held at the Circulation Desk for seven days for you to pick it up to borrow it.
For a quicker answer to questions, and a chance to win an iPod, contact Ask A Librarian http://library.ucf.edu/Ask/
I have a question about the contest. I know that you have to ask a question through the chat service in order to be entered, but if you ask a question when the chat service is not operating and you get a response through email, does that still count as an entry?
I am looking for a book on Barack Obama and its status says "lost", is there any way I can get it forwarded from another library?

Does UCF make an annual yearbook?
I checked with our Ask A Librarian service and they said that it must be a live chat transaction, not an e-mail. If you wish to enter the contest, please try the chat service during their operating hours and don't forget that the contest ends on November 16.
Mon - Fri: 9:00 A.M. - Midnight
Saturday: 1:00 P.M. - Midnight
Sunday: Noon - Midnight
No, UCF does not have an annual yearbook.
If you need a book that UCF does not have, you can often obtain it via interlibrary loan. You must submit your request to them electronically and requests usually take about 9 days to complete. You might also want to check with your local public library to see if they have the book you need.
For more information on interlibrary loan, plese visit http://library.ucf.edu/ILL/
Has the winner for the Ask a librarian ipod contest been determined yet?
