Library Tutorials & Instruction Requests

We hope you will consider utilizing a Rosen Library Research Tutorial and assigning the accompanying quiz to your students as a graded assignment this semester. We can suggest an appropriate Tutorial for each course, and we will simply ask that you decide on a due date and how many points to assign to the quiz. That's all! We do the rest of the work, including compiling and grading the quizzes. We can even supply you with suggested wording to add to your syllabus.

Face-to-face library instruction sessions may also be arranged in addition to or in lieu of an online tutorial. Sessions may be based on class assignments, research topics, citation help, or other topics. Session length and accompanying assignments are completely customizable based on your needs

Want to assign a research Tutorial or instruction session for your Spring course(s)? Just fill out our Library Instruction Request Form or email us and we'll be in touch shortly! Or just stop by and let us know your plans.

Please note that we prefer to receive your requests for library instruction or tutorials prior to the start of the semester.

Reserve Materials

Please contact us as soon as possible if you would like to put materials on (print or electronic) Reserve in the library for your Spring course(s). We can inform you of your options and any restrictions that may apply.

Writing Center

The University Writing Center (UWC) is offering writing assistance on the Rosen campus again this semester. Please encourage your students to take advantage of this service and to schedule appointments early.

Starting with the second week of classes, writing experts will be available in the Rosen Library study rooms:

  • Mondays, 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays, 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Students can visit http://uwc.cah.ucf.edu (and click on the TutorTrac logo) or call 407-823-2197 to set up an appointment. Walk-ins without appointments will also be helped, if availability permits. The UWC also offers remote consultations by phone, chat, or Adobe Connect.

New Library Exhibit

This year the Rosen College of Hospitality Management is celebrating a very special 30th anniversary! In addition to events taking place throughout the year, the library has curated our newest exhibit, Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence, as homage to the history of Rosen College.

Come to the library to view a timeline of Rosen College history and special materials which include a commemorative chocolate and the original press release from Rosen's grand opening ceremony in 2004, newspaper articles, and pamphlets from Rosen's early years as part of the College of Business Administration.

For more information about the exhibit, as well as a digital timeline, please see the exhibit's accompanying website: http://guides.ucf.edu/Rosen-Anniversary.

DVD & VHS Title List

The list includes clickable links that you can use to access the full catalog record for any title, as well as a printable Excel spreadsheet of all titles.

The Rosen Library now also offers a number of streaming video titles. These are educational videos that can be viewed online. Links to these videos may also be easily placed in syllabi or embedded into Canvas. To learn more about these and for a complete list of titles, check out the Rosen Video Collection guide, and let us know what you think!

New Books

We have acquired many new books this year! Check out our New Items guide, for a select list of new books and DVDs received in different subject areas. Each entry includes a cover image, a short description, and a link to the online catalog for more information. Just use the tabs near the top of the page to navigate among the subjects.
