the tuning forks are being sturck with a tuning fork mallet that is rubberized on one surface as to not damage/scratch this rare object. the higher frequencies forks are being flicked with my fingernail. This is required by the curator as hard objects may not only damage but will give an inconsistent/noisier tone.
