Posted on: Mar 12, 2012 @ 10:20:33 am

Did you go on a road trip for spring break? Today is a good day for reflection on your trip.

Iconic American writer Jack Kerouac (March 12, 1922 – October 21, 1969) wrote On the Road. Jack was a famous member of the Beat Generation.

If you are a member of the Millennial generation: that pre-dates the Hippies.

You can learn more by searching the UCF Catalog for his work. There are hundreds of articles about aspects of Kerouac's life and work available full-text in the library's databases, listed at Some interesting and thought-provoking articles are included online in the Essays and General Literature Index, by writers like Tom Hayden and Aram Saroyan.

Expand your horizons, open your mind, be spontaneous and treat your brain to a few ideas today: it's Jack Kerouac's birthday. Learn all about him before the On the Road movie is released, later this year.
