Welcome back! It's Pi Day.....

Posted on: Mar 14, 2011 @ 9:28:42 am

Can it get any better than this? Thousands of Knights have returned to UCF after a relaxing/exciting Spring Break, and it's Pi Day!

Today, March 14, we celebrate all things pi.

According to the The American Heritage Science Dictionary , pi is:
An irrational number that has a numerical value of 3.14159265358979… and is represented by the symbol π. It expresses the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle and appears in many mathematical expressions.

You can find The American Heritage Science Dictionary and other full text electronic reference tools in Credo on the list of Articles and Databases at http://library.ucf.edu/Databases/ or search the title in the library catalog and click on the full text. If you really want to get crazy celebrating Pi Day, take a look at other full text Credo resources in Math, such as Princeton Companion to Mathematics, or the Penguin Dictionary of Mathematics. Simply search those titles in the library catalog and click on the link to the full text.

Math lovers, eat some pie today!
