
The University of Central Florida (UCF) Libraries is proud to announce the arrival of Rebecca “Missy” Murphey, who joined the Libraries Reference Services department faculty on June 21, 2010. Ms. Murphey received her MLIS from the University of Alabama, and comes to UCF from the University of Mississippi. She has extensive experience with library instruction, face-to-face and virtual reference services, and collection development and liaison responsibilities. Ms. Murphey also has a background with government documents and has written and presented on a variety of topics of interest to librarians. She has served as chair of the ALA Education and Behavioral Sciences Section Communication Studies Committee.
Missy Murphey has wasted no time in rolling up her sleeves and becoming involved in the work of the Libraries. The photo shows her, dressed for the task at hand, moving Reference books to their new location in the Knowledge Commons . We are glad to have her at UCF!
