Scripps Library and Multimedia Archive is a specialized collection focused on American politics and history with special attention paid to the American Presidency. Between 1940 and 1973, six American presidents from both political parties secretly recorded just under 5,000 hours of conversations. The tapes chronicle these presidents' deliberations and decisions during such critical events as the prelude to the Second World War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Mississippi and Birmingham civil rights crises, the Vietnam War, and the opening to China. Some of the more important presidential speeches of the past 60 years are available in their entirety in multiple audio formats and, when possible, transcripts of the speeches are provided. The Presidential Oral History Program is systematically and comprehensively debriefing the principal figures in the administrations of Presidents Carter, Ford, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Clinton, with plans to do the same for future presidents.

Ben's Guide to U.S. Government for Kids provides learning tools for K-12 students, parents, and teachers. These resources will teach how our government works, the use of the primary source materials of GPO Access, and how one can use GPO Access to carry out their civic responsibilities. And, just as GPO Access provides locator services to U.S. Government sites, Ben's Guide provides a similar service to U.S. Government Web sites developed for kids.

CD-ROM Resources identifies Web equivalents for most government CD-ROM products available in the UCF Library.
