APPENDIX E: CUTTER TABLE (Part 5 of Classification System)

This Cutter Table is from page 26 of the "Subject Cataloging Manual : Shelflisting" G 060, rev. 10/06/86.

4. Create the cutter . Determine the filing position of the work and use the Cutter Table and auxiliary tables to create the Cutter.

The following examples show cutters that could be used only when the entries already shelflisted conform to the table above. In most cases, the cutters must be adjusted to the file an entry correctly and to allow room for later entries.
