Michael Arthur is Head of Acquisitions &
Collection Services at the University of Central Florida.
Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Sport Marketing &
Management in 1991, and his Master of Library Science in 1999,
from Indiana University in Bloomington. He received his
Master of Public Administration degree from Old Dominion
University in 2006. He is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the
National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration.
Michael is active in ALA, and the North American Serials
Interest Group (NASIG), and regularly attends The Charleston
Conference. He has presented at NASIG, and Charleston as
well as the North Carolina Serials Conference, and the
Acquisitions Institute. He has published articles in The Serials
Librarian and Serials Review. He is Chair of the state
wide Collection Planning Committee for the state universities in
Florida, and serves as co-chair of the Collection Development
Committee for the Association of Southeastern Research
Libraries. Michael is a member of the Springer Academic
Library Advisory Board. Michael enjoys speaking about ways to
make technical services operations more effective. Michael
enjoys camping and helping out with Scouting. Michael
lives in the Orlando, FL area with his wife Amy and their three
children Jacob, Abigail and Sarah.
