Your Special Borrower's card ($30 for six months, $60 for one year), together with a second photo ID, may be used to check out materials from the CMC library, general collection, video collection, government documents and the vertical files. The Special Borrower card is non-transferable between individuals. While reference books, newspapers, reserve materials and periodicals, do not circulate, you are welcome to use them in our Library building. Interlibrary loans are available only as described below. A missing library card should be reported to the Circulation desk immediately. Lost cards will be replaced for a $5.00 fee. THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF TEN ITEMS THAT MAY BE ON LOAN AT ANY GIVEN TIME.
Loans from the Library's general collection will be made for three weeks, unless otherwise indicated on the date due slip. Audio-visual materials and sound recordings circulate for one week unless otherwise indicated on the date due slip.
The demand for study rooms is such that we must restrict their use to current UCF students only.
Materials from the general collection may be renewed unless a hold/recall request has been placed on the item. Library materials and your Special Borrower's Card must be presented in person at the circulation desk at time of renewal or you may renew online via your library account if you do not have any recalled or overdue library materials. Materials cannot be renewed via telephone or mail renewals.
By completing a HOLD form at the Circulation desk or online, the borrower can be notified when the requested item has been located and is ready for use. The material is then held in the borrower's name for one week at the Circulation Desk.
All library materials are subject to recall after 3 weeks and must be returned when requested. Materials needed for Course Reserve are subject to recall immediately. Borrowers are notified by telephone, email, or mail that another person has requested an item that they currently have checked out. Until Library materials are returned, they are the responsibility of the borrower and fines will be accrued from the new recall date.
Materials are considered overdue at 8:00am following the due date, or in the case of reserve materials, one hour after the time indicated on the due date.
All debts to the library must be paid in full before receiving or renewing a special borrower's card.
The University Library is mandated to assess the following fine for overdue materials:
Although the fines accrue from the stamped due date, they are not collected until the amount reaches $1.00 (four days overdue-regular loan). This three-day grace period does not apply to reserve materials. Payment can be made at the UCF Main Library Circulation Desk during normal business hours or mail by sending payment (NEVER SEND CASH) to:
University of Central Florida Library Circulation P.O. Box 162666 Orlando, FL 32816-2666Free interlibrary loans are available to all Florida residents through local public libraries.
Materials should be reported to the Circulation desk immediately so fines may be stopped. If material is reported lost, damaged, or stolen, or is more that 42 days overdue (assumed lost), the replacement cost of the material is billed to the borrower. Payment is made at the Circulation desk with cash or check.
Please report to the Circulation desk immediately.
Visitor's Parking Passes may be purchased for $5.00 a day at the security booth located in the Visitor's Parking Lot (west of Welcome Center) or kiosk machines located in the student parking lots.
