We are pleased to honor Dale Salamacha and his business, Media 1, for graciously donating their time, services, and equipment via a Gift-in-Kind to create outstanding signage for the new collaborative learning space/coffeeshop, Infusion.

Dale, president of Media 1, started his thriving business in his mother's garage in Oviedo 22 years ago and continues to provide outstanding customer service to clients across Florida, as well as the country. Media 1 provides high-end, custom signage from concept and design to complete fabrication and installation.
Dale and Media 1 were recently profiled in the September issue of Sign Builder Illustrated, an international trade publication that focuses on trends in the sign industry. Dale shared his expertise on the process of "wrapping" boats in an article entitled "Fishing for Boat Graphics."

And After! |
Vehicle Ad Wraps are the newest and best way to create mobile advertising for any type of business! Photographic, large-format solvent-based inkjet printers print directly to 3M adhesive vinyl, up to 64” wide. After a UV clear laminate is applied, the wrap is adhered to the vehicle surface using heat and direct pressure. Media 1 operates out of a 12,000 sq. ft. facility, currently with 22 employees. They design and produce over 60 vehicle wraps per month, ranging from boats & RV’s to vans & semi trailers, plus the occasional hot dog cart.
For more information about the outstanding services provided by Media 1, please visit them online at www.media1signs.com. Or call them at 1-877-WRAP-THIS! Also, during your next visit to campus, please visit the UCF Libraries and enjoy a cup of coffee in Infusion while reading your newspaper or checking your e-mail.
Thank you, Dale and Media 1, for your generous support of the UCF Libraries!

When a UCF Libraries user thinks of available facilities, most everything that comes to mind is housed in the main library building on the Orlando campus. However, by partnering with a number of community colleges, the Regional Campus System provides library services to UCF students throughout Central Florida. This is supported by resource sharing and the cooperative working relationships formed among the librarians. Their integrated teamwork allows them to offer enhanced services to faculty and students at both institutions. One excellent facility that figures highly in the list of UCF Libraries' assets is located in UCF’s Southern Region on the Cocoa campus.

| The Front of the BCC/UCF Joint Use Library. |
Shared with Brevard Community College (BCC), the BCC/UCF Joint Use Library is a beautifully constructed building with plenty of growth space and provides most of the same services and benefits as the other UCF libraries; actually, it includes some accommodations that other facilities do not. For example, the best seat in the house includes a view of Clear Lake and the BCC Planetarium.
Cocoa has an experienced team of reference faculty that includes librarians Barbara Alderman, Allison King, and Andrew Todd, who are assisted by a part-time Office Assistant, Patsy Dyson. An extensive collection of reference materials as well as a fine general collection accompany an abundance of computers that can be used for most any academically-related purpose. Through Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Services, the regional library in Cocoa obtains virtually all the materials needed by their clientele.

| The best seat in the house: a student studies with a view of the BCC/UCF Joint Use Campus' Planetarium across Clear Lake. |
The campus is growing at a considerable pace and many area students are choosing to enroll in UCF and attend classes in Cocoa, rather than make the commute to Orlando. As the need arises, additional programs are added to the campus curriculum. Regional campuses intend to offer all the courses necessary to complete specified degrees.  : For this reason, it is fortuitous that there is considerable growth space in the library for the collection; the need for a building addition should not be a concern for some time.
Another noteworthy aspect of the BCC/UCF Joint Use Library is the creation of special collections developed in cooperation with BCC and the community. With Brevard County Public Schools the BEST (Brevard Education Scholarship and Teaching) Center was formed to provide BCC and UCF education students, Brevard County teachers, as well as the community population, with resources to improve learning and teaching. With the Space Coast Grant Professionals Network, the Grants and Nonprofit Resource Center was compiled to provide needed materials primarily for students in the nonprofit management program at UCF and local nonprofit entities. Both centers are heavily used and continue to expand.
When next in Cocoa, visit the BCC/UCF Joint Use Library and enjoy the excellent vista overlooking the lake, try to spot the baby alligator, and maybe visit BCC’s planetarium.
